My house's indoor ethernet wire up

Senator Conroy has proposed that wiring up houses for the NBN would cost up to $400 per room for ethernet wiring. I use gigabit ethernet at home already and my indoor wiring goes from my bedroom to a 2nd bedroom then to the lounge. This satisfies 90% of the connected time for my PC's (desktop and laptops). For the other rooms I use wireless. I use command strips from Bunnings to fix the cables to the skirting boards and architraves, and they work pretty good. They have a habit of falling off from the skirting boards though. Depending on your view, this video may be an argument either for or against DIY indoor ethernet wiring. Hardware is: 2 d-link gigabit ethernet switches for $50 ea from MSY ethernet cables (cat 6 I think) 1 d-link wireless router dir-615 netcomm adsl2+ modem
